Final Update before the Event Day!

This is our final update before event day on Sunday!
Our events team have been spending the last 2 days over at Sledmere House in Driffield setting up for the event on Sunday, with the help of the team at Sledmere!
We've been spending our time in the rain to setup for event day on Sunday. Although it's been cold and wet we are super excited to be able to accept our runners on Sunday and for you all to get caked in mud for your charity!
This year we are trying to reduce our plastic use, we are doing our part for the enviroment by trying to remove as much plastic use from the event as possible and this means we won't have plastic water bottles available. We still have water machines so we advise bringing your own bottles to fill up at the event.
We have some tips for event day to make it go smoother for yourselves:
TOWELS - The event takes place at Sledmere House and as stated it will be a run through all sorts of terrain. This means that you will be getting muddy and wet, which is great fun! We advise taking a towel for your run that will help you dry off afterwards.
CHANGE OF CLOTHES - There are plent of fantastic obstacles along the course which will make sure you get wet and caked in mud but you may not want to jump back in your car like this. Bring a spare chang of clothes to change into once drying off, we have some open aired communal changing areas, one for men and one for women, that way you're ready to jump in the car and not worry about any mess afterwards.
UNEVEN SURFACES - With the event being a 5 mile muddy challenge across the ground of Sledmere House, there are some uneven surfaces along the way. Make sure to watch your footing whilst on the run, there are staff and volunteers along the course that will be able to help if any assistance is needed.
NETTLES - Along the route there are a few nettles that you may run by, we advise wearing long bottoms if you can; if you can't then be careful whilst running as you don't want a sting whilst getting caked!
PERSONAL ITEMS - We are unable to store personal items for runners, however there will be a key store on site for your vehicle keys. If you leave your items in your vehicle they are left at your own risk.
The Two Tossers & Bamboo!
An exciting announcement for both you runners as well as ourselves is that we will be joined by The Two Tossers & Bamboo!
The Two Tossers - The Two Tossers bring the fun to pizza and we are happy to have them attending the event. They specialise in neapolitan style pizzas and we assure you they will have something motuh watering for you to sink your teeth into once you've completed the Get Caked course.
Bamboo - Bamboo know what they're doing when it comes to coffee. They're bringing all this amazingness to our event on Sunday and we really can't wait! Once you've finished your run treat yourself to a hot cup of coffee and they also have vegan options available too!
We advise bringing cash on the day for both of the above, make sure you're well prepared as you don't want to miss out on them.
Sponsorship - Dove House Hospice
At the event any sponsorship for Dove House Hospice that has been raised can be handed in at the key store.
We can't wait to see you on Sunday, get ready to Get Caked!
