WHERE DOES GET CAKED TAKE PLACE?

The 5 mile run goes around the grounds of Sledmere House, just outside Driffield. Your event pack will have all the information you need about how to get to the start line, but once you’re in Sledmere just follow the signs to the event car park.

IS THERE PARKING AT SLEDMERE HOUSE?

There’s plenty of parking at Sledmere House – just follow the signs to the event car park once you’re in Sledmere village.

HOW FAR IS THE ROUTE?

The route is approximately 5 miles long with approximately 20 obstacles along the way.

ARE THERE SHOWERS AND CHANGING FACILITIES?

There’s changing facilities and toilets at the start/finish but unfortunately no showers.

IS GET CAKED A RACE?

It’s definitely not a race – it’s not about how quickly you do it, it’s about taking on the challenge – and getting really muddy! But of course, if you want to try for your PB go for it!

DO I HAVE TO DO ALL OF THE OBSTACLES?

You can skip most of the obstacles if you don’t want to do them, there might be a couple that you have to walk through but they won’t be difficult.

I’M PREGNANT, CAN I STILL TAKE PART?

We advise you to check out the NHS advise for exercise during pregnancy. You will be able to skip most of the obstacles if you don’t think you can tackle them safely. www.nhs.uk

HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO TAKE PART IN GET CAKED?

You need to be 15 or older to take part in Get Caked! 15, 16 and 17 year olds need to be accompanied by a paying-adult.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO TAKE PART?

You’re going to get muddy so don’t wear your best clothes! You might want to wear trousers or leggings as you’ll be crawling and running through woodland.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO COMPLETE THE ROUTE?

You can take on Get Caked at your own pace. There’s no time limit! If you will be walking most of the route between obstacles, we do suggest choosing an earlier time slot, so you still get the atmosphere of the event with lots of other particpants.

CAN I RUN AS PART OF A TEAM?

Definitely! You can register up to 10 people at a time on the website – or contact the Events Team to do it over the phone if it’s easier, just call 01482 785795. You can only support one charity per registration group so if you all want to raise money for different charities you’ll have to sign up separately. But you can all run together, wear the same fancy dress and help each other over the obstacles!

WHAT DO I DO IF I CAN NO LONGER TAKE PART?

Just contact the Fundraising Team on 01482 785795 or getcaked@dovehouse.org.uk You can transfer your registration to someone else – but please let us know. We can’t issue refunds after 1st March 2024.

WILL THERE BE REFRESHMENTS?

There will be refreshment stalls at the start and finish and the Sledmere Coach House café will also be open.

CAN PEOPLE COME AND WATCH?

Spectators are welcome to come and watch, they're able to cheer you on as you set off and finish.
The route however, is not accessable for spectators..

WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME?

A positive attitude
A change of clothing
A towel
Sunscreen!

IS THERE SOMEWHERE TO LEAVE MY PERSONAL ITEMS?

We advise that you leave as many of your personal items in your car or with your spectators. There will be somewhere to leave car keys but we won’t be able to store any bags.

DO I HAVE TO FUNDRAISE FOR A CHARITY?

We’re asking everyone who’s taking part in Get Caked to raise at least £40 for their chosen charity. Once you’ve registered, your chosen charity will be in touch to support you with your fundraising.

THE CHARITY I WANT TO RUN FOR ISN’T LISTED, CAN I STILL RAISE MONEY FOR THEM?

You can fundraise for whatever charity you like. If you're not choosing to support one of the Partner Charities just choose 'other' on the registration form. Then contact your chosen charity for support with your fundraising.
